About Spiritual Discourses Becoming The Understanding of The Shaikh - by being pulled into the Shaikh "Spiritual Discourses" represents another attempt by the Children of His Holiness to join in partnership with His Holiness, to become the understanding of the Father, Shaikh Muhammad Rahim Bawa Muhaiyaddeen (may God be pleased with Him), and to share that understanding, to share the understanding of some of the discourses provided by His Holiness, that is growing within the hearts of His Children. The understanding of each of these discourses reflects the state of the Children of His Holiness, reflects how deeply the Children have been pulled by His Holiness into Himself, causing His Children to more and more reflect the understanding of His Holiness rather than their own. His Holiness explains this beautifully in the book, "Shaikh and Disciple", and as the "Quote of the Month" for the Bawa Muhaiyaddeen Fellowship Calendar for February, 1998, when He teaches us, "The Shaikh has to continually test the child. He must test every quality of the child, prodding him to see his reaction. In each word and in every action, the Shaikh pricks the child to see how he will react. "If the reaction is good, then the Shaikh will take that child deeper into Himself, saying, 'This child will turn our right.'" The First Step On The Path of God - the dawning of the understanding of God This is the first step on the path of God, finding a True Man among the Creation of God and understanding Him by becoming one with Him, moving from our own understanding into the One understanding, which is the understanding of God, or the Nur Muhammad. For as His Holiness teaches in the "Introduction" to the book, Shaikh And Disciple, page 5, this is the most difficult task of our life, "At this point I realized that the most difficult task in life is to find a true man among the created beings." "To find a true human being and to understand him is very difficult indeed. Only after realizing the true man and God within myself could I perform true meditation. I had to understand the cage of this body." "Outer acts are not real. I had to find the place within to perform true meditation." The Gift of Tawhid For Our Age - the life and teaching of Bawa Muhaiyaddeen In this way, the Nur Muhammad is the light of wisdom within each of us, the body of the soul, that was placed on the forehead of Adam (may the blessings of God be upon Him), when God personally created Adam (may the blessings of God be upon Him) from the 5 elements joined in unity through the Kalimah of God, through the gift of God to His Creation, in order to bring them to the state of Unity or tawhid, through the remembrance of God, through the affirmation of the Unity of God, which is the principal tenet of Islam. My dearest loving brothers and sisters, may we all move from "our" understanding into the One understanding of God by becoming One with the gift of tawhid for this age, the gift of the life and teaching of His Holiness, our Father, Shaikh Muhammad Rahim Bawa Muhaiyaddeen (may God be pleased with Him).
